This year at LES, the PTO will be doing a special teacher giving tree to give back to our wonderful teachers at this holiday season. Each teacher has made a list of things that they are in need of in the classroom. We are asking you to please donate items that they have written on their ornaments. To find out what the items are for your teacher, please visit the Secretaries or Principals in the office and they will be happy to help find them on the tree. Please have items delivered by December 13th. Students may take to teachers or items may be dropped off in the office to be delivered. We appreciate it!

We are excited to announce that we will be participating in the Read Right Run program. This program will start on October 2nd and conclude on November 22nd. At LMS, our goal is to read 1,000 books before the program comes to an end on November 22nd. In order to reach our goal, we have made it a competition to see which class can read the most books. All grade levels, along with staff, will be competing against one another, and the group that reads the most books will receive a trophy. As parents and guardians, we are asking that you regularly encourage your kids read. We are confident that with your help we can reach our goal of 1,000 books!

Larned Middle School Parents and Students, As we prepare for the start of the upcoming 2019-20 school year, please note the change to the FIRST Day of the school year at LMS. On Thursday, August 15, only 6th grade students will come at 8 am and attend in the morning that day. We will have some beginning of the year activities and a chance for the 6th graders to get accustomed to new teachers and procedures before the other students arrive. At noon, all the 7th & 8th grade students will come for our start of the year activities with ALL students. We look forward to welcoming back our LMS students on that Thursday. Again, thank you for the opportunity to work with you and help you to develop a desire to improve the educational experience in the Fort Larned School District. If you have any questions or encounter any obstacles, please call or stop in. My door is always open. Thank you, Shane Sundahl, Principal Larned Middle School

The automated call sent out tonight came from a Little Rock, AR phone number. We have switched our management system for automated calls and the call tonight came from the distribution company phone number. This will be fixed and new automated calls will be from a Larned phone number.
