Larned High School senior Erin Tims has been named a Kansas Governor’s Scholar, placing her among the top academic one percent of high school seniors across the state.
At the invitation of Governor Laura Kelly, Erin attended the 42nd Annual Governor’s Scholars Awards Program on May 4 in Topeka. The program recognizes outstanding seniors from both public and private accredited schools throughout Kansas.
“These high school seniors have shown dedication in their studies and a commitment to learning,” said Governor Kelly. “They’ve earned this honor, and I want to congratulate them on this achievement. We also should recognize their families, teachers, and mentors for helping these outstanding students achieve their academic goals.”
The Governor’s Scholars Program is coordinated by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force, which was formed to strengthen public trust in education. Member organizations include the Kansas State Board of Education, Kansas Association of School Boards, Kansas PTA, Kansas State Department of Education, Kansas National Education Association, Kansas State High School Activities Association, and others.
Congratulations to Erin on this incredible honor!
