Josh Ball

Say hello to Josh Ball, Larned Middle School’s new PE teacher and Larned High School’s new head boys’ wrestling coach! He’ll be student teaching this fall at LMS under the guidance of Chad Erway and will officially take over the PE classroom on his own second semester.

Josh has spent six seasons as an assistant wrestling coach and has also helped out with middle school football and track. This year, he’s ready to take the lead both in the gym and on the mat.

He grew up in Hoisington and went to Barton Community College before finishing his degree at FHSU. He’s the fourth of five siblings, and sports were a big deal in their house. Between all of them, they’ve earned more than 40 state medals in football, track, and wrestling. Not much has changed over the years—family get-togethers usually turn into some kind of competition. Lately, it’s been pickleball and sand volleyball!

Outside of school, Josh likes to stay active. He spends a lot of time at the lake and enjoys golf, disc golf, and tennis. He also holds a Class A CDL, plus bus and motorcycle licenses. Basically, he can drive just about anything! And don’t ask him to go without music. Spotify is non-negotiable.

Josh is looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families in Larned. Be sure to say hi when you see him!
