Coral Valcarcel

USD 495 is excited to welcome Coral Valcarcel to her new role as a special education teacher at Larned Middle School!

Coral has spent the past two years working as a para in the district and is now stepping into the classroom as a teacher. She’s excited for the year ahead and ready to see where this new journey takes her.

She grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee, and earned her degree in paralegal studies from Liberty University. After staying home with her kids for several years, she found her way into education and hasn’t looked back.

When asked what she’s most looking forward to, Coral said, “I’m excited to be able to make a difference. Yes, that may sound cheesy, but it’s the truth. Knowing that I get to inspire confidence and help the students grow.”

Outside of school, Coral enjoys shopping, reading, and watching TV. Her favorite shows are Grey’s Anatomy and Gilmore Girls. If she had to pick one thing she couldn’t live without, it would probably be her bed or her phone. Fair choices!

Coral and her husband Cory will celebrate 10 years of marriage this December. They have three kids—Luna (9), Lily (6), and Luka (10 months). She joked that yes, she’s one of those moms who gave all her kids names that start with the same letter. The family also has a goldendoodle named Zoey.

One thing people might be surprised to learn is that Coral is actually very shy. After spending much of her adult life as a stay-at-home mom, she’s still getting used to stepping out of her shell.

We’re so glad to have Coral continuing her journey here in USD 495. Be sure to say hi when you see her around LMS!
