Say hello to Alisha Busenitz, who’s joining the LES family as a 2nd grade teacher! Alisha comes to us from Kinsley-Offerle, where she spent the last 10 years teaching 1st grade and a 1st/2nd combo. Teaching has always been her passion. Even in college, she worked as a tutor and later spent a year supporting high school students with special needs.
She grew up on a farm near Newton and went to college at Calvary University in Kansas City. She also earned her master’s in reading from Emporia State.
When she’s not at school, Alisha loves reading (fiction is her favorite), spending time with her nieces and nephew, and traveling. That’s them in the picture! She says the highlight of her summer is visiting them in Wyoming.
And in case you’re wondering, she can’t live without coffee. Totally fair!
We’re excited to have Alisha join the team and can’t wait for her to meet our students and families! Be sure and give her a warm welcome when you see her around Larned.
