LES held a Family Math and Reading Night on January 24th. The theme for the evening was "Making Learning Magical". Each grade level (K-5) had an activity for Reading and an activity for Math. The purpose of the night is to learn and play the educational activity at school as a family, which then could be repeated at home. This is a way to give families a variety of ways to work on skills in a fun way. Each student got a deck of cards to go along with the math activities in the classrooms.
Some of the activities included: Fairy Tale Mad Libs, Making a 10- Go Fish, Fairy Tale Sequencing, Place Value War, Multiplication Games, Fairy Tale Read Aloud. We also had a photo booth set up with props to go with the theme.
We had 116 students attend our event. We hope families enjoyed as much as the LES staff did. We host this event every year.
