Don’t miss Touch a Truck and the Summer Resource Fair on Monday, May 5 from 6:00–7:30 PM at LES. Bring the whole family—check out the trucks, grab some dinner, and leave with all kinds of helpful summer resources! #larnedpride #lesfamily #bettertogether

Tonight's JV Baseball game has been postponed. Make up date TBD. # larnedpride

The Larned Police Department hosted Chamber Coffee this morning at the USD 495 Service Center (aka the bus barn)!
Officer TJ reminded everyone what to do when they see a school bus with flashing red lights and the stop arm out—stop and stay stopped. 🚨 It’s not just a good idea—it’s the law (KSA 8-1556)!
We’re so thankful for our partnership with local law enforcement. Keeping kids safe takes all of us. #larnedpride #bettertogether

Mornings are always better with donuts! 🍩 Huge thanks to Jordaan Memorial Library for treating our LMS crew this morning! #larnedpride #bettertogether

It’s National Principals Day, and we’re pretty lucky to have some of the best. They lead our buildings, support our staff, and care deeply about kids. We appreciate you today and every day! #larnedpride

The Untamed, The Talented, and the Chronically Late: A Journey Through the Art Show with Mrs. Pontius — Today, this unpredictable crew of amazing, talented art students represented Larned High at the CKL League Art Festival at McPherson College.
They participated in hands-on art workshops, made bold creative choices (and a little bit of mess), and walked away with five awards. Chaos? Yes. Success? Absolutely.
Gold Medal winners: Kaylyn Snodgrass, Maggie Haas
Silver Medal winners: Trista Mommens, Leah Pinkston, Eli Kelty

LES families and staff: May Day Muffins has been moved to Tuesday, May 6.
Same times: 7:30–8:00 AM for AM Pre-K through 5th grade, and 12:00–12:30 PM for PM Pre-K.
Thanks for your flexibility and understanding!
We can't think of a more fun way to learn about angles than breaking the rules (with your teacher's permission, of course!) and drawing right on your desk! 📏 Way to make learning fun, Mrs. Erway! #larnedpride #lesfamily #learningisfun

If your phone’s been ringing… there’s a good chance it was a #goodnewscallhome. We’ve had a bunch lately! 🙌📞 #larnedpride #lesfamily

Big thanks to Fusion Bank for showing our 1st graders the behind-the-scenes world of banking today! 🏦
From vaults to coin sorters and state quarters to storytime, it was a morning packed with learning (and some really cool coins)! #larnedpride #lesfamily #bettertogether

Spanish 2 & 3 students brought history to life for LES kindergarteners yesterday! They hosted a Living History Museum, sharing presentations about notable individuals with Spanish heritage. A great day of learning and connection for both our bigs and littles! #larnedpride #lesfamily

LHS Track is headed to Hillsboro this Friday, May 2!
Heads up if you’re planning to attend — the road south of Hillsboro is still closed. For any visitors coming from the south, the best route is Highway 15 north of Newton, then east on Highway 56 into Hillsboro. (There’s also a dirt road detour about a mile east of the Highway 50/Indigo Road intersection if you'd rather go that way.)
If you're coming from Larned, the fastest route is still straight through Great Bend → Lyons → McPherson. Safe travels! 🚗 #larnedpride
LHS JV Track is headed to Lewis today, April 29! Events begin at 1:00 PM at the Lewis Football & Track Field (401 Sunnyside).
🏃♂️ Restrooms will be available inside the school near the concession stand.
🍽️ A food vendor will be on site with BBQ, chips, pop, water, Gatorade, and candy bars.
Good luck, Indians! #larnedpride
If you missed our developmental screening last Friday, mark your calendar for Friday, August 8! Screenings are for children birth to 5 years old and help us plan for preschool placement this fall. Call (620) 285-2141 to schedule your child's screening! #larnedpride #lesfamily

National Student Leadership Week was packed with good stuff at LHS!
Every student got a treat from the Woot Woot Wagon, teachers nominated Student Leaders of the Day, they had a 'Pic a Mentor' day (and took lots of great pics with someone they look up to!), and even made flowers to share with the nursing home. 🧡 #larnedpride #besttribeever #bettertogether

Thank you to the LMS PTO for hosting the final Fizzy Friday of the year for our students! We’re grateful for all the ways you support both our students and staff! #larnedpride
