A glimpse into a week at LES. Our students have been busy building their reading and phonics skills while bringing learning to life through hands-on experiences! From reading Thunder Cake and making their very own thunder cake to cooking pancakes while exploring different properties of matter, students have been making meaningful connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them. Shawn has enjoyed some special reunions lately with people who mean so much to him!

He caught up with Mrs. Washburn, who spent time with him at LMS, and gave her the desk plaque he made for her! Then, one of his best buddies, Isaac Redgate, surprised him with a visit after being away at basic training. The two graduated together last year, making this reunion extra special!

FBLA went to FHSU today to the INSPIRE business camp led by KSCPAs. The students got to hear from the Rapping CPA, Drew Carrick. He has had the privilege to work with movie stars and directors in LA all because of his CPA and networking! The students were introduced to the many different paths that holding a CPA license can provide. #larnedpride

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to forfeit our upcoming football game with Andale on Friday October 30th. With our current low roster numbers due to injury, we believe that competing would place our student-athletes at an increased risk of injury. The safety and well-being of our students must remain our top priority, and we feel this is the most responsible decision under the circumstances. While this is a difficult decision for our players, coaches, and school community, we believe it is necessary to prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes.
