They attended a career fair at Barton Community College where they explored different career paths through tours, hands-on lessons, and activities led by campus staff. It was a fun and educational experience that gave the students a realistic look at careers they were interested in and what college life at Barton might be like!
Then later in the month, traveled to Topeka for a visit to the Capitol. They met with Representative Brett Fairchild, and spoke with other leaders, explored the building’s history and watched live Senate and House sessions. It was an educational and unforgettable experience!

📚✏️ It’s National Public Schools Week!
To celebrate, we asked some of our staff to share what working in public schools means to them. Their responses highlight the passion and dedication they bring to our students and community every day.
We are grateful for the amazing staff and students who make Fort Larned USD 495 such a special place. Public education is truly a community effort, and we’re proud to be part of it!
