I would like to nominate Mr. Fairchild for an orange spot. Last night about 5:15pm he dropped by our house to return a lunch box that was left on the bus by my son. He went above a beyond to ensure that we had an evening without frustration and a morning set for success.

I spy an Orange Spot winner!

Each month, staff and families send in Orange Spot nominations, and we draw one winner from the group. Our November winner is Mrs. Debbie Makings, preschool teacher at LES.

Since she was on a (much-deserved) vacation during the board meeting, Mrs. McGurk, Mr. Wachs, and board president Jessie Pleasant surprised her in her classroom today. Debbie, thank you for the care and joy you bring to kids each and every day. 🧡 #orangespot #larnedpride #lesfamily

Danielle Fox would like to nominate Beth Millian for consistently going above and beyond her duties by designing creative, meaningful lessons and activities that connect academics to practical life skills for a student. She individualizes instruction to make learning engaging and relevant, collaborates proactively with teachers and families for consistent progress, and demonstrates patience, dedication, and a genuine belief in the student’s potential. Her work has increased the students’ engagement, independence, and carryover of skills at home and in the community, and her student-centered approach models best practice and uplifts the entire team. Thank you, Beth!! 🧡 #larnedpride #orangespot

This project has been a long time coming for Shawn. He has wanted a SpongeBob bank for years. Miss Beth brought her potter’s clay and tools to school and showed him some handbuilding skills, and together they created the bank. Mrs. Pontius fired it in the kiln, and Shawn finished it with acrylic paint. Now he gets to fill it with coins!

Love it, way to go Shawn! #larnedpride
