Good evening, USD 495 there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, January 23rd. The decision is based upon unknown timing for arrival of winter weather Friday afternoon that could make school dismissal travel difficult. The district will be operating in Phase 3 of our Inclement Weather Procedures. Ensuring safety is our top priority, we appreciate your support and understanding

After continuing to monitor the forecast, we’ve also made the call to cancel the Ted Merten’s Middle School Wrestling Tournament scheduled for Saturday, January 24. The expected winter weather and extreme cold just aren’t improving, and we don’t feel comfortable with the travel conditions.
The tournament will not be rescheduled. We appreciate everyone’s understanding! #larnedpride

After watching the weather forecast closely, we’ve decided that LHS wrestling will not travel to Cimarron tomorrow. While the trip there may have been doable, snow is expected to move in later in the afternoon, along with strong winds and cold temperatures, which could make the drive home unsafe. With the safety of our students & staff in mind, the team will stay home. Thanks for understanding! #larnedpride

Our LHS Esports team, led by Mr. Cody Ratliff, traveled to Ellsworth yesterday for their first in-person match. A fun and exciting first step for this new program! #larnedpride
