The weather is making things interesting. Due to the impending winter weather forecasted for this weekend, the LHS BB games have been moved up to Thursday. The Girls will tip off at 3:30pm followed by the Boys at 5:00pm.


This morning’s Board of Education work session at Larned Elementary School included a sweet visit from the LES Ambassadors in celebration of School Board Appreciation Month. Students presented each board member with a children’s book for the LES library, dedicated as a thank you for their service to our students and staff. The Lady Indians pick up a big win tonight over Cimarron. They will advance to take on Inman on Friday.

Kylier Greene with the tip in at the buzzer secures the win for the Indians! They will play next at 8pm on Friday vs. the Little River/Cimarron winner.

The Girls will also play their first round game of the St. John Mid Winter Classic on Monday, January 19. They will tip off immediately after the Boys game vs. the #7 seed Cimarron. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30pm.

In Varsity Boys play tonight, the Indians could never quite get over the hump against the Dragons and fall by a score of 53-64.


In the Varsity Girls game tonight, the Indians come up a little short in their battle with Halstead.


The LHS Wrestlers will be in Scott City on Saturday for the Scott City Classic. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9am.

A new sport has officially joined the athletic lineup at Larned High School 🎮
Esports is officially here as a Kansas State High School Activities Association–recognized sport for the 2025-26 school year. After years of statewide discussion and pilot programs, competitive gaming is now part of Kansas high school athletics.
Our LHS Esports team, led by Mr. Cody Ratliff, traveled to Ellsworth yesterday for their first in-person match. A fun and exciting first step for this new program! #larnedpride

Thanks to the LHS Girls Basketball team and coaches for getting up early on a game day to host Hi5 Friday at LES! The kids were sure excited to get their basketball backpacks! 🏀

The Letter Jacket Man is coming to town! He’ll be at Larned High School on Wednesday, January 28, from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM to take measurements and share ordering information.
The most important part is stopping by to get sized while he’s here. Once you’re sized, jackets can be ordered any time during the year.
Jackets are $315 plus tax and include a black wool body with white or orange leather sleeves, names, and year. If you bring your own “L” to sew on, there’s an additional $8 charge.

In Varsity Girls play this evening, the Indians pick up the big win over Nickerson by a score of 65-18.
