Each month, we would like to recognize a staff member from Larned Elementary School and highlight their achievements! Nominations are open to be submitted by students and fellow staff members at LES to select one certified staff member and one classified staff member as their Superhero Staff Member of the Month! Our winners for February are Miss Converse (classified) for showing kindness that is stronger than kryptonite! This staff member shows compassion to not only the students but also to other staff members as well. Miss Converse is super kind and sweet to everybody new and old. Mrs. Dryden (certified) is the Guardian of the Galaxy! This staff member's super powers include always looking out for others and being the gravity that holds the galaxy together! Mrs. Dryden is the best teacher ever because she always help her students and is the best superhero. Congratulations, ladies! Thank you for everything you do for USD 495! #lesfamily #larnedpride

Teachers play a huge role in our lives! Each month, we would like to recognize the teachers from Larned High School and highlight their achievements. Nominations were submitted by students and other staff members at LHS for the Rockstar Teacher award. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was selected as our February Rockstar Teacher at LHS! She had many nominations, but wanted to share one with you all. "Fitz does her very best to make sure that her students succeed. She will bend over backwards for any student as long as they make an effort. She doesn't give up on you ever. She does her best to be a teacher that students can learn from and reach out to.
