If you've ever been inside a school, then you know it could not work without the help of paraprofessionals! Today we are celebrating them and all that they do. LES lined the hallways and clapped them through today after their assembly to thank them! Happy Paraprofessional Day! #lesfamily #larnedpride

Shoutout to the Lady Indians softball team for joining us this morning at LES for Hi5 Friday! Our kiddos really enjoy seeing the older students in our district and we sure appreciate them taking time out of their busy schedules to be here. Good luck tonight in your games with Bucklin! #larnedpride

Showing up matters! These students were this week's LES and LHS winners of the attendance campaign. We will catch LMS's winners on Monday since they were busy with their community clean-up. Don't worry, we'll be picking winners weekly for the rest of the year. A big shoutout to our local businesses for their support in awarding our kids! #larnedpride #showingupmatters #bettertogether

You may have seen some of our students out and about today! LMS spent their afternoons giving back to our community. #bettertogether They traveled to Diversicare, Fort Larned, the Humane Society, the 4H Haas Building, and even Pawnee Rock! A few groups stayed back at LMS to wash school buses, clean up around the school and the gymnasium and a few went with City of Larned crews. We weren't able to snag pictures of all of the groups, but hope you enjoy seeing these as much as we do! #larnedpride

Kody and Rich Epp came all the way to LHS from Colby, KS yesterday to visit Mrs. Munden's Audio/Video class. The Epp's have owned and operated Open Spaces Sports, a high school sports broadcasting and live streaming service, since 2009. They shared with our students a wealth of information regarding sales, let them check out all of their equipment, helpful tips for making yourself known and having confidence, and the importance of having drive and dedication when it comes to your work. Rich, having 53 years of experience, and Kody with almost 13 years, are the perfect example of "Love what you do and you won't work a day in your life"! Thank you so much for visiting with our students! #larnedpride

The 5th grade book club recently wrapped up reading "The Amelia Six" and the students have been presenting their projects over the book. Mrs. Upson contacted Kristin Gray (the author) via email and set up a 15 minute Zoom session for the book club to discuss writing a book, how Kristin came up with the idea for "The Amelia Six" and any other questions they may have for her. The students wrote down their questions before Spring Break so they would be prepared for the Zoom interview. The kids had really been looking forward to meeting Kristin Gray and they asked some really great questions! #lesfamily #learningisfun #larnedpride
