Allisa Spain is a hidden jewel to all our kids in the Larned district. She gets wonderful pictures of the fun activities they do, but what she also does no one sees is protect our kids! Some families choose to not put there kids online & they choose this for a multitude of reasons. She gets that & goes through pictures of 850 kids & makes sure those requests which can often be for safety reasons are met! What a big job to keep track of 850 kids' faces & names to help keep them safe. Thank you Allisa for doing an outstanding job loving & protecting our kids here in Larned!

Tonight, we’re taking a quick time out to share a reminder: good sportsmanship starts with all of us.
How we act, how we cheer, and how we treat others shows who we are. At every event, let’s represent Larned with pride.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…
#larnedpride

Arrival times:
• 9:00 AM – Cross Country, Tennis, and Golf
• 10:30 AM – Cheer and Football
(There are no senior volleyball athletes this season.)
Athletes are encouraged to look up posing ideas ahead of time and may bring props that represent their sport, such as helmets, rackets, medals, pom poms, or golf clubs. All props must be school appropriate.
Photos will be taken in a professional setting and made available for free download at a later date.
A big thank-you to senior student Maggie Haas for organizing this opportunity to celebrate and showcase our Larned athletes! #larnedpride

The students always love exploring the fire truck and learning how firefighters help keep us safe. Seeing a firefighter in full gear also helps our them know what a real hero might look like if they ever need help.
Thank you, Larned Fire Rescue, for taking time to visit and teach our students about fire safety! #larnedpride #bettertogether #lesfamily
But don’t forget! Parent-Teacher Conferences are Monday, Oct. 13. Book your spot in ParentSquare, and check out www.usd495.com/conferences for tips on what to expect before, during, and after your visit.

Kayla Long would like to nominate Amanda Johnson for Orange spot recognition. She is going above and beyond to help her students and teachers. I love having her on the team. She makes learning fun! She is a HUGE asset to LES! Thanks for all you do for kids! #orangespot #larnedpride

They’ve been learning about the JAG model and the traits that matter most to local businesses. Next week, they’ll present their posters to the Larned Chamber of Commerce, explain what JAG is, and share how their training prepares them to be valuable employees in any career field.

Here’s a little about what some of his teachers had to say about him to nominate him:
“Adam is a hard worker. He is always happy and excited to be at school with his classmates. I am proud of how Adam works when he is in my classroom.” – Mr. Upson
“Adam is a jolly young man that brings a positive attitude and a smile on his face to class daily.” – Mr. Erway
“Adam is very eager in woodworking class. He works hard and show determination.” – Mr. Hewson
“Adam is a joy to have in class! He is a hard worker, and he seems to really appreciate a challenge when given it. This should be a good quality to have as the concepts get more challenging in math class.” – Mr. Applequist

📌 PK–5 and 9–12 families: You should have received a ParentSquare notification to select a time to meet with your child’s teacher(s).
📌 6–8 families: Some of you may have received a notification and some may not. If you did not get one but would like to set aside a time to meet with one or more teachers, please call the LMS office and we’ll be happy to help make an appointment.
ℹ️ Grades 6–12 families: If you choose not to or don’t end up booking a time, drop-ins are welcome. Just know that those with scheduled appointments will have priority when meeting with teachers that day.
