The Rodeo Committee stopped by LES today to check out the variety of activities that they have purchased for our elementary school. They donated $2000 to support our students, how awesome is that?! They also did this for Pawnee Heights students along with generous donations this year to the Larned Fire Dept. & EMS. In years past, they have purchased new headphones for Kindergarten classrooms and sight word discs for the hallways. The Rodeo Committee is made up of 10 board members and they are preparing to host their 4th annual open rodeo during Santa Fe Trail Days, May 26th & 27th. Yesterday, we celebrated the retirement of our Accounts Payable Clerk, Ann Schreiber. Ann has dedicated many many years to USD 495 and we are so happy for her to be able to spend all of her time doing what she loves, spending time with her family and cheering on the Wildcats! LES Families know how to dance and have fun! We had roughly 155 families in attendance tonight for our PTO Glow Dance. Thank you to our PTO for getting everything organized. Our District enjoys sending our staff members to different professional learning opportunities. This week we had a few LES teachers not only attend conferences but present at them as well. February is Dental Awareness Month. Every year, Smith Dental teams up with Nurse Cindi to spread awareness to our students about the importance of taking care of our teeth. Smith Dental gifted two students from each grade (K-5) some new oral hygiene products! Thank you to Smith Dental. We had some pretty excited students who are ready to put their new electric toothbrushes to work.
