LHS JAG students are working on a PBL (project-based learning) assignment focused on this driving question: “How do we increase visibility and community engagement for JAG-K?”
They’ve been learning about the JAG model and the traits that matter most to local businesses. Next week, they’ll present their posters to the Larned Chamber of Commerce, explain what JAG is, and share how their training prepares them to be valuable employees in any career field.

We’re excited to share with you all the JAG-K Student of the Month at LHS, Adam Perez! 👏
Here’s a little about what some of his teachers had to say about him to nominate him:
“Adam is a hard worker. He is always happy and excited to be at school with his classmates. I am proud of how Adam works when he is in my classroom.” – Mr. Upson
“Adam is a jolly young man that brings a positive attitude and a smile on his face to class daily.” – Mr. Erway
“Adam is very eager in woodworking class. He works hard and show determination.” – Mr. Hewson
“Adam is a joy to have in class! He is a hard worker, and he seems to really appreciate a challenge when given it. This should be a good quality to have as the concepts get more challenging in math class.” – Mr. Applequist

Don’t hang around too long… have you booked your Parent-Teacher Conference for Monday, Oct. 13?
📌 PK–5 and 9–12 families: You should have received a ParentSquare notification to select a time to meet with your child’s teacher(s).
📌 6–8 families: Some of you may have received a notification and some may not. If you did not get one but would like to set aside a time to meet with one or more teachers, please call the LMS office and we’ll be happy to help make an appointment.
ℹ️ Grades 6–12 families: If you choose not to or don’t end up booking a time, drop-ins are welcome. Just know that those with scheduled appointments will have priority when meeting with teachers that day.
Check out www.usd495.com/conferences for tips on what to expect before, during, and after your visit. #larnedpride #bettertogether

Our Board of Education held a work session at LES this week, and we were proud to have two third graders, Colby Hatfield and Maggie Keith, share about the mock trials their class held on Constitution Day. 🇺🇸👏
Each semester, the board holds three additional meetings (work sessions), with one hosted inside each of our school buildings. These meetings give board members the chance to see learning in action and hear directly from the people their decisions affect.
Thank you to LES for welcoming us on a busy fall picture day, and to our board members who made time away from their own jobs to be with us! #larnedpride #lesfamily

We love that our students get to share #goodnewscallhome with their families! Way to go! 📞🧡 #larnedpride #lesfamily
