We had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Randy Watson, Kansas' Commissioner of Education, and Kansas State Board of Education members Dennis Hershberger and Jim McNiece at Larned High School today! They spent time with Mr. Hewson learning about the incredible equipment and programming in our Construction class (including our new electrical lab!), and then visited Mrs. Stahlecker, Mrs. Pontius, and the students involved in Indian Ink, our student-run apparel business. The first step in going to college is to apply! For many students, this can feel overwhelming, especially for those who are the first in their family to pursue postsecondary education. That’s why Apply Kansas is here! As part of this statewide campaign, schools help seniors apply to college with support from staff, community members, and postsecondary volunteers.
Mark your calendars for Kansas Apply Free Days on October 7-9, 2024! During these three days, any Kansas resident—regardless of age or income—can apply for free to any of our 7 public universities, 19 community colleges, 6 technical colleges, and the 21 private institutions of the Kansas Independent College Association. Update from Pratt. The lightening has moved to the east. The gates will open at 7 pm. There will be a 45 minutes warm up time for the teams. The plan is a to kick off at 7:45. #larnedpride
Lightning is still prevalent around the Pratt area….Tonight’s football game with Pratt is still on hold. Once the lightning moves past the Pratt area; we will put 45 minutes on the clock for the team warmup and allow time for spectators to enter the stadium. At this time; the stadium remains closed. #larnedpride
Update: Tonight’s game at Pratt has been pushed back to a 7:30 PM start. Gates will open once Pratt announces the all-clear. #larnedpride
Our 3rd graders had a blast participating in a live mock trial as part of a special Constitution Day event! 🇺🇸⚖️ After learning about the Constitution and the three branches of government, they became the jury and decided the verdict. Such a fun, hands-on way to learn about our government! #larnedpride #learningisfun #lesfamily

Our first family workshop is in the books! 🎉 On Tuesday night, LES families joined us to learn about PAX tools, while the kiddos had a blast playing outside.
