What an incredible start to the first day back from winter break! 🎉 This morning, all JAG students gathered in the gym with JAG-Kansas Sr. Vice President of Programming, Beverly Mortimer to share some big news. Our very own Ally Belt was named JAG-K Region 1 Student of the Month (there were competitors from nearly every school with JAG west of Salina!) and, wait for it…. The STATE Student of the Month! With over 100 schools across Kansas in the JAG program, this is an incredible achievement. Congratulations, Ally! Your hard work really shows and we are so proud of you! #larnedpride #besttribeever

Skyline does not have a girls JV team so all games on January 5th will be played in the middle school. JV Boys at 4:30 followed by varsity girls around 6 and varsity boys around 7:30. #larnedpride

LES Families-

Our LHS Guitar Class had a blast taking a field trip over to Country Living. The students played the residents a few songs and even had a few sing-alongs! Thanks for having us! #larnedpride #bettertogether

Hats off to the local contractors who joined us for the middle school construction class semester-end social! 🏠 The students showcased their cat house projects, and we're grateful for the valuable insights shared by these industry pros:
🔌 Jim Haynes and Casey Hatfield from Haynes Electric
❄️ Steven Lewis and Ivan from Comfort Systems
🚿 Jacob Shaver from Shaver Plumbing
🏛️ William Tice and Alan Taylor from the City of Larned
🛠️ Brad Collins from H and H Roofing
Big thanks also to Steven Hall, retired shop teacher from USD 495, for making the event even more special! 🙌 #larnedpride #bettertogether

LES library bookmark contest winners and runner-ups! 🎉 Check out the amazing creations by our talented students. Congratulations to all! #larnedpride #lesfamily

Shawn crafted a beautiful plaque for his band teacher, Mr. Lyman! Using cherry wood and the latest addition to the wood shop, the new laser engraver, he added a personalized touch to show his appreciation. #larnedpride #besttribeever

🏡✨ LHS Physics class wrapped up the first semester with the Electric House project! Students designed and constructed model houses, incorporating both series and parallel circuits, mirroring those found in real home electrical systems.
This Monday, judges viewed the houses. They assessed various factors, ensuring that series and parallel circuits worked independently without a moving battery, and also evaluated efforts based on creativity and neatness. Great job to all the students involved! 👏 #larnedpride #besttribeever #learningisfun

Kicking off Christmas Break with the LHS PTO Upstander Award! 🏆 The PTO loves recognizing LHS students who embody the spirit of an Upstander—individuals who go the extra mile to support others and stand up for what's right. 🤝 A big congratulations to Emma Corman, Lane Elam (Not Pictured), and Ally Belt for earning the latest Upstander Awards. 🎉 Let's remember, when given the choice to be an Upstander or a Bystander, always choose to be an Upstander! #larnedpride #besttribeever

When your preschool teacher is trying to get everyone in the holiday spirit, but you're just not a fan of N'Sync.... 😂 Who else has a little one with their own festive playlist preferences?🎄 #larnedpride #lesfamily

Did you know? From our dedicated staff to tailored programs, we're committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need. #DYKKansasKids #larnedpride

LMS PE had a blast with special guests yesterday! Mrs. Weiser's brother, Mason Perez (Larned alum!), shared the day with our students. Then, seniors Cade Colglazier and Brady Hope joined the fun with the 6th-grade PE class! 👏 Thanks for making our day extra special! #larnedpride #bettertogether

LES wanted to recognize parents and guardians for their assistance in getting students to school and on time. We put 179 students on the wheel selector for having less than 4 absences. Over zoom with the students these four families were selected as our winners. They received a Dillons gift card. Thank you families for your continued support and partnership. On a side note, we have 30 students sitting with perfect attendance this semester! Awesome job!
