USD 495 families there will be no school or school activities for USD 495, Monday, January 8th. This is based on the forecasted winter weather event, that includes snow and intense high winds. The National Weather Service has placed Pawnee County in a blizzard warning before schools would be dismissed, which could cause driving conditions to change rapidly tomorrow afternoon. Student and staff safety is always our top priority and we appreciate your support.

Girls wrestled well and earned a 5th place finish out of 17 teams.
With the cancellation of school both on Larned and at Pratt-Skyline the basketball games scheduled for tonight have been postponed until tomorrow, Saturday January 6th. We will play varsity girls at 2 pm with varsity boys to follow 15 minutes after. There will not be a JV boys game. All games will be played at the middle school. #larnedpride

USD 495 families there will be a 2 hour delay of school for USD 495 today. This delay will provide additional travel time this morning in dealing with the snow and road conditions. Based on data from the national weather service the next couple hours we will have moderate accumulating snow fall. Again USD 495 will have a 2 hour delay today. Mrs. Fairchild's class had a great time celebrating New Year's and our first school day of 2024! They had a 1-minute dance party every hour of the day, made special hats and ended their day with party favors and a "Ring in the New Year" candy ring. They also did a team-building activity with cups, rubber bands, and yarn, and had fun throwing snowballs to practice math facts. What an unforgettable first day back!#larnedpride #lesfamily
What an incredible start to the first day back from winter break! 🎉 This morning, all JAG students gathered in the gym with JAG-Kansas Sr. Vice President of Programming, Beverly Mortimer to share some big news. Our very own Ally Belt was named JAG-K Region 1 Student of the Month (there were competitors from nearly every school with JAG west of Salina!) and, wait for it…. The STATE Student of the Month! 🏡✨ LHS Physics class wrapped up the first semester with the Electric House project! Students designed and constructed model houses, incorporating both series and parallel circuits, mirroring those found in real home electrical systems.
This Monday, judges viewed the houses. They assessed various factors, ensuring that series and parallel circuits worked independently without a moving battery, and also evaluated efforts based on creativity and neatness.
