In Mrs. Rainbolt's first grade class, each student will have a chance to be the STAR student for the class. This student shares an "ALL ABOUT ME" poster made at home with their family and the class will make them a class book. The parent is invited to come to school to read a book and tell us about their job during that week. The parent tells us how they use reading, writing, and math in their job and how important it is to work hard and do their best everyday. #lesfamily #larnedpride

Alex Filbert, Executive Director of the Larned Chamber & Pawnee County Economic Development, visited with Mrs. Munden's class today. Alex is a proud 2013 LHS alumni, and chose to return home after her time at Kansas State University. She spoke with our students about her leadership position within our community and emphasized the importance of them finding their passion and pursuing it in a career after they graduate! Thank you for sharing with us, Alex! #larnedpride #bettertogether

Good news calls home!! #lesfamily #larnedpride

Join the Tri-County team! We're always on the look out for paraprofessionals and substitute paraprofessionals. Right now, we could use additional help at all 3 locations (Ft. Larned, Pawnee Heights, and Kinsley-Offerle) and with all ages of students. This would be a great position for retirees and parents of young students. You will be off of work when your children are - holiday breaks, summers, and more. Tri-County is willing to be flexible with your schedule, (i.e. half days, part-time, etc.) If you're interested in learning more or applying for a position, visit https://usd495.tedk12.com/hire/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=153 #larnedpride

While this emergency test has nothing to do with the schools, we are broadening the reach of FEMA's plan for nationwide testing so that our staff, students, and families are aware that this test is happening.
Friendly PSA: Beginning at approximately 1:20pm (CT) today, Wednesday, October 4th, it is expected that the Federal Emergency Management Agency will conduct a nationwide test of its Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts. The test will send emergency alert messages and/or sounds to radios, televisions, and cell phones across the country. If the October 4 test date is postponed, the back-up testing date will be October 11. Read more about the emergency test here: https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20230803/fema-and-fcc-plan-nationwide-emergency-alert-test-oct-4-2023
We share this advanced notice simply to prevent concern. #larnedpride

Parents to PE day 2! #lesfamily #larnedpride

Oppa!, our food service provider, switched menu platforms this school year. In the past, the menus have automatically updated from month to month. We understand that the menu on our website and app has not shown the menu the past 2 days. We wanted to hop on and let everyone know that it is now working and you should be able to see the breakfast and lunch menus now. Sorry for the inconvenience! #larnedpride #lesfamily

Our kindergarten and 1st grade students have been helping Ms. Piper decorate the library for fall! #larnedpride #lesfamily

We are very excited that we got to kick off our Student Advisory Council with our first meeting today! The Student Advisory Council is comprised of 12 high school students who collectively represent various facets of our school community. These students range from academics to athletics, CTE to fine arts. These students will come together once a month to meet with the Superintendent, offering invaluable student perspectives and insights. Through open and constructive dialogue, the council serves as a bridge between the student body and administration, ensuring that student voices are heard and helping to shape positive changes that benefit the entire district. #larnedpride
