LMS STUCO went to the KSHSAA regional conference today! Guest speaker was Ben Grannis with "Eyes Up Ride". He spoke on being present in the moment you're in and connecting with those around you in a meaningful way. To be comfortable with being uncomfortable because you're trying new things and to be willing to accept help from others. No one can do it alone. #larnedpride

This smile says it all! #goodnewscallhome

Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming back one of our very own Larned alumni, Kylie Keller (Hanson), to speak with our high school football team and cheerleading squad. After years of hard work, Kylie became a registered dietitian, specializing in sports nutrition and had the opportunity to work with D1 collegiate athletes. Now, she is using her expertise at HaysMed and even has her own incredible business called K2 Performance Nutrition LLC.
During her visit, Kylie emphasized the importance of fueling our bodies right and staying hydrated. She shared valuable insights on how our student athletes can optimize their performance on the field (and the sidelines!) by making healthy food choices. The teams were really engaged in the conversation and asked Kylie some great questions.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Kylie for taking the time to come back and share her wisdom with our students. She is a shining example of what dedication and passion can achieve. We hope to have her visit again! #larnedpride

Yum! Ms. Polston's 6th grade science class had an experiment outside after making solar ovens out of pizza boxes! They tracked their thermometer readings and tried to figure out which materials inside their ovens helped cook the s'mores faster. The best part was enjoying the treat at the end of the experiment! #learningisfun #larnedpride

4th graders went to "Medical School" and then performed text feature surgery - gloves, masks, and all! Students first reviewed each patient's symptoms, and then cut and glued the text feature they needed onto their packet! What a fun way to learn, and these students worked hard! They did break for recess during surgery - after ensuring that their patient was stable, of course! #larnedpride #lesfamily
