Breaking News! 🗞️ LES just announced their Students of the Month! We’re so proud of these students for being responsible, safe, and caring for themselves and others. #larnedpride #lesfamily

It’s hard to learn when you’re hungry, and it’s hard to succeed without support! This week, we’re celebrating National School Breakfast Week and National School Social Worker Week—two things that make a big impact on our students every day.
🥞 A good breakfast gives students the energy to focus and learn.
💙 Our school social workers make sure students have the support they need to thrive.
Join us in recognizing both this week! #larnedpride

Before 1975, millions of children with disabilities were denied access to public education. Many were placed in separate classrooms with little support, while others were kept out of school entirely. That changed when President Gerald Ford signed the Education for All Handicapped Children Act, now known as IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
Today, thanks to IDEA, more than 8 million students receive special education services, and 66% of students with disabilities spend most of their school day in general education classrooms. Early intervention has also expanded, helping over 441,000 infants and toddlers get the support they need from the start.
For 50 years, IDEA has ensured that all students, regardless of ability, have the right to learn, grow, and succeed. And its impact continues today. #larnedpride

Many thanks to the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary for spending the morning with us at LES for Hi5 Friday! What a fun tool to use to share with our students about understanding that we all have different points of view and perspectives based on our individual experiences.
