Cheryl Beckwith would like to nominate Rachel Jacobs and Danialle Wood for an Orange Spot Recognition. They both do a tremendous job with their students and it's clear how much progress they've made. #orangespot #larnedpride

Mrs. McGurk would like to nominate Rocio Wagner for an Orange Spot Recognition. Rocio stepped up and took the initiative to organize our bus dismissal sheets. This is much appreciated and very helpful. #orangespot #larnedpride

Starting Thursday, August 28, 2025, the bus stop at the former Hillside School (502 W. 5th Street) will no longer be in service at the request of the property’s new owner.
Students on Routes 16, 21, and 31 will now use the new stop at Grace Lutheran Church, on the north side along 6th Street (6th & Carroll).
We’re very thankful to Grace Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their space as a stop for our students.
We know any change in routine can cause a little confusion, and we want you to know we’re right there with you. More than anything, the safety of our kids comes first. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Richard Fairchild, Director of Transportation, at (620) 285-8492 or richard.fairchild@usd495.com. #larnedpride

Nobody asked… but we’ve got WAY more than 10 reasons to come Tailgate with the Tribe tomorrow! 🎉
🍴 1. Bella's Mexican food… enough said.
🔥 2. Floyd’s Smoke Shack hits the spot every time.
🍧 3. Bahama Mamas snow cones. Have you ever seen someone turn one down? Us either.
🍕 4. Flatlanders flatbread pizza. (Do we really need to explain?)
🍰 5. Freaking Delicious Cheesecake. Mic drop.
🎟️ 6. Snag your tickets for the Foundation for Education’s Biggest Fan raffle.
🧢 7. Patch it up! Personalize hats, jackets, bags—you name it.
🌭 8. FREE hot dog meal for every USD 495 kid!
🎶 9. Tim Tunes will keep the music rolling.
🧡 10. Larned Indian Booster Club = all the Larned gear you could ever want.
And because we can’t stop at 10… there will also be slip n slides, the fire truck, the Humane Society (with furry friends 🐾), the ladies from the library running a tattoo parlor, Valley Community Church with an activity, and word is the Sheriff is bringing an obstacle course.
So plan on joining us! Bring a towel, grab a lawn chair, and stay awhile. #larnedpride #bettertogther

There are so many people who make USD 495 what it is. Paras, aides, bus drivers, cooks, subs, speech paths and assistants, occupational therapists, school psychs, custodians, groundskeepers, librarians, and our maintenance crew all matter in big ways to our kids and to all of us. We couldn’t do it without them! 🧡 #larnedpride
*Not all are pictured… some hide on picture day, and some have joined us since our last round of photos! 🙂
