No school for the kids today, but all of our staff had far from a morning off! Tara Brown, an award-winning educator, trainer, speaker, and author spent the morning with us. She shared a powerful message about building connections/forming relationships, the "tools" you should always carry in your "toolbox" so you are able to reach the students where they are, and a reminder to always make sure that our students are seen, heard, and validated. "My teacher thought I was smarter than I was - so I was." Thank you, Tara, for such an inspiring message to help our District finish the school year off strong! #larnedpride

Tonight's Board of Education meeting is at 6pm at the District Office. Join us in person or stay tuned for the Board Brief that will be shared tomorrow. #larnedpride

We can't end the week without giving a big shout out to Mr. Ettleman! He wears many hats, but is a huge asset to our high school as their Assistant Principal. Thank you for all you do! #larnedpride #APweek23

Mrs. Foster's class had an Easter egg hunt with jelly beans! They used their estimating skills to guess how many they had in their bags. During their math lesson, they graphed, sorted, and wrote tally marks for the jelly beans! #lesfamily #learningisfun #larnedpride

Congratulations to Kiana Meyer who signed to play softball next year at Hesston! #larnedpride

On April 4th, we celebrated School Librarian Appreciation Day. A big thank you to Sarah Corman, Janae Finger, and Debra Kauer, for all you do for USD 495! #larnedpride

Way to go LMS! This week's attendance winners! #larnedpride #showingupmatters

Due to the short school week, we drew names for our attendance campaign a day early. Here are the LES positive attendance winners! #lesfamily #larnedpride #showingupmatters

Larned High school is excited to extend an invitation to the upcoming Job Fair to the public! We encourage students and any other attendees to bring a resume and join us as we network and connect with our local businesses and organizations. We are hoping to also host different opportunities for volunteers as well. We hope to see you there! #larnedpride

Teachers play a huge role in our lives! Each month, we would like to recognize the teachers from Larned High School and highlight their achievements. Nominations were submitted by students and other staff members at LHS for the Rockstar Teacher award. Mr. Butler was selected as our March Rockstar Teacher at LHS! Mr. Butler gives his students everything that they need to succeed, not only in his classroom but out in the real world as well. He teaches the students about respect and hard work. He is always willing to do anything he can to help, is easy to get along with, and is a wonderful example of somebody our students can look up to. Thank you for everything, Mr. Butler! #larnedpride #rockstarteacheraward

Using electrolysis, the LHS Physical Science students decomposed water into hydrogen and oxygen. #learningisfun #larnedpride

LES kicked off our State Assessments today by cheering our students throughout the school. This was just a little something to get our kids pumped up to do their best! Thank you to family, friends, and community members who joined us.

Mr. Gingerich's class have been hard at work in the garden this week. We even were able to get a few extra helpers. Thank you parents for helping! We will have some radishes before we know it.
