Larned Love Stories continues! Meet Israel & Lucia Hagerman! 🧡🖤 Married for 21 years, Israel and Lucia are both dedicated educators in Larned Schools. Israel teaches and coaches, while Lucia teaches and sponsors LMS Stuco. How has working in the same district shaped their relationship? "We love impacting the same group of kids—many of them feel like family because they get to know both of us. I miss not working in the same building as Israel, though. We work really well together. It’s also nice having someone at home who understands the highs and lows of the job… and having the same breaks so we can travel and work out together!" Fun fact: They keep things fun with jokes, pranks, and a little friendly roasting. Basically, they still act like teenagers together! Larned Love Stories continues! Meet Scott & Sherry Upson! 🧡🖤 Scott and Sherry have been married for 28 years and both teach in Larned Schools—Scott teaches high school history, while Sherry teaches 7th grade math. Fun fact: They actually met through their jobs in the district! Outside of school, they enjoy going to concerts and Nebraska football games together. The Indians Are Finally HOME! 🏀 After a long stretch of away games, the Indians are back in Larned tonight, Friday, February 7, to take on Hesston! 📍 At Larned High School: JV girls start at 4:30 PM (2 quarters), followed by JV boys. There will be no C-team games. 📍 At Larned Middle School: Varsity girls tip off at 6:00 PM, followed by Varsity boys. Little Indian Cheerleaders will perform at halftime of the boys' game! Little Cheerleaders should sit with their families when not cheering. Those wearing their cheer shirts get in free, but families will need to pay regular admission. Cheerleaders will meet in the LMS Band Room after the first quarter of the Varsity boys' game to line up. Can’t make it? With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re kicking off Larned Love Stories, celebrating the amazing couples who make a difference in our district every day! First up: Chad & Jennie Erway! 🧡🖤 Chad and Jennie have been married for 29 years, but their love story started long before that. They first met at an LHS football game when Chad was in 8th grade and Jennie was in 7th—and they’ve been together ever since! Now, they’re both proud LHS alumni who have built their lives and family right here in Larned. Jennie teaches At-Risk Math at LMS, while Chad is the PE and Virtual Class instructor at LHS and a longtime LHS baseball coach. What do they love about working in the same district? "Having the same work schedule—summers off and holiday breaks—gives us more time together.
