Each month, we would like to recognize a staff member from Larned Elementary School and highlight their achievements! Nominations are open to be submitted by students and fellow staff members at LES to select one certified staff member and one classified staff member as their Superhero Staff Member of the Month! Our winners for March are Mrs. Streit (classified) and Mrs. Gladow (certified)! Mrs. Streit shows kindness that is stronger than kryptonite! This staff member shows compassion to not only the students but also to other staff members as well. Mrs. Streit is a natural when working with students and we have been lucky to have her at LES for the last 3 years. Mrs. Gladow is a powerful problem solver! This staff member is your go-to when problems arise. They always find the solution that's best for everyone involved! Student say that Mrs. Gladow is the best in the world. We hit the jackpot when Mrs. Gladow joined the LES Family last spring. She and Mrs. Watkins make a great team and she has brought a lot of knowledge and resources to the district. Congratulations to Matthew Figger, Jacob Colglazier, Mason Miller, Caleb McDonald, and David Colglazier for receiving a Superior rating for their brass quintet performance at the 321A Regional Music Festival in Larned yesterday. Their top rating has qualified them for State contest on April 29th! #larnedpride

You may have seen some of our students out and about today! LMS spent their afternoons giving back to our community. #bettertogether They traveled to Diversicare, Fort Larned, the Humane Society, the 4H Haas Building, and even Pawnee Rock! A few groups stayed back at LMS to wash school buses, clean up around the school and the gymnasium and a few went with City of Larned crews. We weren't able to snag pictures of all of the groups, but hope you enjoy seeing these as much as we do! #larnedpride

Kody and Rich Epp came all the way to LHS from Colby, KS yesterday to visit Mrs. Munden's Audio/Video class. The Epp's have owned and operated Open Spaces Sports, a high school sports broadcasting and live streaming service, since 2009. They shared with our students a wealth of information regarding sales, let them check out all of their equipment, helpful tips for making yourself known and having confidence, and the importance of having drive and dedication when it comes to your work. Rich, having 53 years of experience, and Kody with almost 13 years, are the perfect example of "Love what you do and you won't work a day in your life"!
