LHS students who missed 4 days or less during 2nd semester this year enjoyed a pizza party from Mr. Wilson for lunch yesterday. We also did a drawing for some BIG attendance prizes towards the end of the day! The students eligible to be entered into the big drawing missed 4 days or less in the first or second semester. Drumroll please.... Congratulations to Talon Reynolds, Mackenzie Reinert, Cadee Upson, Riley Pontius (not pictured), Abby Holt, and Cade Colglazier! Showing up matters, and we want to send a huge thank you to all of our sponsors who made it possible for us to award these students who made it a priority! #larnedpride #bettertogether

This is the first 5th grade class that is moving on to LMS after being with us at the new LES building since they were kindergartners! Last night we hosted "Sign Up, Move Up!" for these students and their families to come decorate yard signs to recognize them as they move on to middle school. We will miss them, but they will forever be a part of the LES family. #lesfamily #larnedpride

Meet Kiana, our JAG-K Student of the Month! Here are what her teachers had to say about her:
I have enjoyed getting to know Kiana in and out of the classroom. She engages with the youth in the community and takes interest in what they are doing. The kids and parents appreciate the "big kids" showing up for their activities. In class, she works hard to complete the tasks given and to comprehend and understand the material covered. - Mrs. Stahlecker
I have enjoyed having Kiana as a student. She has worked hard throughout high school in getting to where she is at. Kiana will go the extra mile to help her fellow classmates understand what is being asked. She is a great leader and role model to her peers. - Mrs. Fox
Kiana has such a joyful presence about her when she walks in the elementary school. The students love her, and you can tell she cares for them too! I have really enjoyed getting to know her this semester. She has expressed interest in becoming an elementary school teacher, and I think her future is bright in this profession! My students and I will miss her next year! - Mrs. Erway
Kiana has been a preschool aide for her entire senior year. She has helped build art projects, participated in countless tea parties, and given hundreds of hugs. She is always kind and has a natural way of working with the youngest Larned students. Kiana is dependable and always has a "can do" attitude. We will certainly miss her next year, but we wish her the very best in Heston next year! - Mrs. Corman

Don't get conned! SRO Perez spent some time with our middle school students today to discuss the dangers of vaping. They also talked about how big companies are targeting our youth for addiction (Nicotine shouldn't taste like bubblegum!) The health and safety of our students is SO important to us - thank you SRO Perez for having these conversations with our students! #larnedpride

S is for Stories with the Sheriff! Thank you for reading with us today! #lesfamily #larnedpride #bettertogether

Don't Forget! We rescheduled 5th grade Sign Up, Move Up! and Early Ed Touch a Truck for tonight, Tuesday, May 16th.
Sign Up, Move Up: LES has purchased yard signs that we will place in the grass near the drop off line to recognize our 5th grade students as they move up to middle school. We invite all of you to come help your child decorate their sign on May 16th from 5-6 PM in our cafeteria! We have plenty of paint, but feel free to bring any extras you may want to add - pictures, etc. The signs are 19"x14".
Touch A Truck: Birth to age 5 children are able to come and explore a variety of work trucks and other vehicles, ask questions, and they may even be able to honk the horn! We will also have a food truck or two, so come hungry! Bring the whole family, Tuesday, May 16th from 6-7 PM at LES.
See you tonight! #lesfamily #larnedpride

Our 3rd graders hosted Market Day last Friday! They each decided what they were going to sell, and took turns visiting each "store". This was such a great way to see each student's creativity shine through and was also a great lesson on buying and selling goods. A favorite day at LES! #lesfamily #larnedpride

Last week's attendance winners! We have some big ticket items to give away this week to reward some kiddos who have had minimal absences this year. This wouldn't be possible without our generous sponsors - thank you! #bettertogether #larnedpride #lesfamily
